Christmas is just around the corner, and once again HertsHelp is encouraging residents who may be spending it alone to take part in community activities.
Christmas can be a difficult time for some people, but a quick call to HertsHelp can put them in touch with volunteering opportunities and social events and help them beat any Christmas blues.
Last year 78-year-old Harry from Sandridge called HertsHelp after reading an article about the Alone at Christmas campaign. Harry said: “I rang up and was invited along to the Abbeyfield Christmas lunch. I had a really nice time, much better than I thought! I could have stayed for tea in the evening if I had wanted to. I’d definitely do it again this year.”
If you would like to know what opportunities there are in your area to join others, either socially or as a volunteer, please contact HertsHelp on 0300 123 4044 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
